How To Import Connections in Control Center
This article will walk you through the steps to upload new connections via our spreadsheet template in Control Center.
To start, log into Control Center. On your Control Center dashboard, scroll to the left navigation bar then click on Connections.
Click on Import on the right side of the menu bar.
Next, click on Download Template to download our excel spreadsheet template where you will input your connection details.
Open the connections template spreadsheet and fill out your connection details. For each joint ID, there must be a unique identifier. Note that red fields are required, and gray fields are optional.
Once your connections spreadsheet is completed, ensure all your details have been properly saved. Then, click Upload File and select the correct file to upload it into Control Center.
In the prompt box, select the header row that contains the names of the columns. The default value for the header row is 4, which you do not need to update unless you changed this value in your version of the spreadsheet template. Click Next.
The Table Data Validation prompt box will appear. Ensure that your column data is mapping correctly to the corresponding field header column. Click Next.
Your spreadsheet will populate into a web version with your connection data. Verify that all the information is correct. Each of the fields are live and editable, so feel free to make any changes that are necessary. Once you are satisfied, click Submit.
Our system will now verify that each of your tag numbers can be properly validated. In the event that a tag number cannot be validated, a failure will be flagged.
To learn more about why a failure was flagged, click Close and then click on the Show Error Console button to get additional feedback on the error and how to fix it. Make the necessary edits then click the Submit button in the upper right corner of your screen to resubmit for validation.
Once all your data has been properly validated, click Submit and your new connections will be added to the Control Center. View them by clicking on Connections in your left navigation bar and searching for the tag number you just uploaded.
The connection status will be “Untouched” until you manually change the connection status, or perform work on that connection via the Cumulus mobile app.
